This was the Twittok

As I announced a few weeks ago, the Twittok event had place in Tokyo; Twittok is a meeting of users of the microblogging service Twitter that following the path of the Twittmad and the Twittbarna in Spain, was celebrated in the japanese capital thanks to the collaboration of @adelgado and myself.

Well then, here you have some pictures and videos of the event…

Twittok

At first I was a little bit busy dealing with the entrances and money to pay the drinks & food, but later I had some time to put a face to some of the blogs I’ve been reading lately (like @Ikusuki, @fvalenciano, @mickoib, or Pepino - @karawapo) and also meet again @Flapy or @Irukina, who is now one of my friends here in Tokyo.

First Twitter meetup in Tokyo: Twittok

Following the success of the Twitter meetup celebrated in Madrid, next month there will be a Twitter meetup called Twittok, into which I hope to put a face to all that people I’ve been talking with on Twitter in the last months. The goal; Have fun… :)

Twitter is an internet service that helps people to tell their followers what are they doing in 140 characters short messages. This service, when used from a mobile phone, becomes really addictive… my user is @ungatonipon. My mobile phone, below this lines, never stops working! ;)

This meeting is not limited to Twitter users only. Anyone with free time willing to get to know new people and have fun talking at an irish pub over some beers is more than welcome.

When: March 22nd, Saturday, at 18:00
Where: Hobgoblin de Shibuya, a british pub that looks a bit like the one the Twittmad is taking place in Madrid.

Advertising in Tokyo

It’s amazing to see the multiple ways to promote a product or new service that exists in Japan. After a few days there it looks like… normal, but actually the very first days you put your feet in Tokyo, all this stuff really blows your mind away like crazy. Nonetheless, it’s quite interesting to find out at Pingmag how weird can it get.

Maybe more than the advertising itself, is the shiny and clean station what is really surprising.

Tokyo in 1935

Amazing video of Tokyo in 1935. Despite the time that has passed, it was already clean and tidy by then, with quite a lot of traffic. It was almost completely destroyed eight years later in WWII; Some neighbourhoods like Ginza were not entirely destroyed and guess some of this buildings still remain there.
